Buck Hill Management Area and Benson Mountain Trail

This area is a 1,777 acre site of forest land, wetland area and agricultural land containing hiking and biking trails, birdwatching and other wildlife viewing and hunting.
The trail is a 4.7 mile hike which has abundant wildlife. Along this trail are tiny ponds with nesting boxes which provide housing for the wood ducks. Hikers are actually walking in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. A wildlife marsh attracts waterfowl, fur-bearers such as muskrat, and other wetland dependent birds. Buck Hill Management Area and Benson Mountain Trail, with access to the North South Trail (77-mile trail that crosses the entire state of Rhode Island), has difficult inclines and rocky trails.
