The 300-acre working farm, overlooking Narragansett Bay, is a rare example of one of the original plantation farms of the Colonial era. The farmhouse, (circa 1750), surrounded by fields, barns, high stone walls, and a family cemetery, was a site of Revolutionary activity. In cultivation since the time of the Narragansett Indians.
Today, farm managers raise organically grown produce for a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. A weekly farmers market happens on Saturdays from May to October and offers products from other local farms, including meat, seafood, fruit, and flowers. The farm is owned by Historic New England, the oldest, largest, and most comprehensive regional heritage organization in the nation.
A guided tour includes the farmyard and cemetery, where six generations of Casey's are buried. Tours are offered from June 1st to October 15th on Tuesdays and Fridays 2:00 -5:00pm.
