Dev's Tavern

Dev's Tavern is happy to bring new life to a bar with a story to tell. This location is home to one of the oldest bars in northern Rhode Island. Originally built in 1850, the building has always been some kind of bar. Back then, the current billiard room used to be the ladies’ tearoom as women weren’t allowed in the bar area. There is also a section of the wall where you can still see the seam from the small window where women used to order food from during the pre-Civil War era. At one point in time, the third floor functioned as a brothel. Today, Dev's Tavern has expanded with an outdoor patio. Food items include typical tavern fare like mozzarella sticks and sandwiches, but you can also score a New York System-style wiener or charcuterie snacks on the patio. Behind the bar, Dev’s offers a solid selection of draft beer, which includes a rotating keg from nearby Bravo Brewing.
