COVID Details:

The well-being of our guests and team members is our highest priority. We’re ready to welcome you back and would like to share some of the steps we’ve taken to ensure the well-being of our guests and team members. Travel If you are coming to Rhode Island from one of the states listed here with a positivity rate of COVID-19 greater than 5%, you will either have to self-quarantine for 14 days while in Rhode Island, or produce proof of a negative test for COVID-19 that was taken within 72 hours prior to arrival in Rhode Island. If you receive a test after arriving in Rhode Island and get a negative test result, you can stop quarantining. Cleaning & Sanitation Our team has implemented enhanced sanitization protocols across the hotel, developed with guidance provided by local health authorities, the CDC, AHLA Safe Stay guidelines and other governmental agencies. The frequency of cleaning and disinfecting the hotel, with additional focus on high-touch surfaces such as the front desk, elevators, door handles and public restrooms, has been increased to ensure a clean and safe environment for our guests and team members. This elevated approach extends to the cleaning and sanitation processes within our guest rooms, restaurants and event space, as well as team member service areas. Hand Hygiene, Face Coverings and Gloves Proper and frequent hand washing remains one of the most important steps in preventing the spread of germs. Our team members are required to properly wash their hands hourly and immediately after doing such things as sneezing, touching their face, cleaning, entering or exiting guest areas and before and after a shift. We have made hand sanitizer readily available throughout the hotel to assist with hand sanitation when a sink is not readily available. Each of our team members are required to wear masks; due to governmental requirements, guests are also required to wear masks when in public spaces. Gloves will be worn by restaurant team members when preparing food or drinks; other team members throughout the hotel may also be required to wear gloves depending on duties and recommendations made by the CDC. Temperature and Wellbeing Checks the Rhode Island Department of Health requires that we screen employees, customers, and visitors entering our establishment. People whose responses to screening questions indicate they are sick, or who show visible signs of illness must be denied entrance and instructed to isolate. Screening of customers and visitors may consist of self-screening as guided by posted signage. In addition to screening for COVID-19 symptoms and risk factors as outlined in RIDOH’s general guidance, our team members will inform guests of screening requirements upon making a restaurant reservation and notify guests that they should not plan to dine at our restaurant if any member of their party does not meet screening standards. This notification can be done by phone, text, email, or verbally at restaurants and check in. COVID-19 Pool Policy Hotel Viking is pleased to announce that our indoor pool and hot tub are open and operating under the Rhode Island Department of Health’s mandated COVID-19 restrictions. To ensure the health and safety of our guests our pool is available for guest use from 9am-10pm daily. All pool reservations are made at the time of check-in and are on a first come first served basis. Due to square footage restrictions the maximum number of people allowed in the pool area at one time is 7 individuals. To ensure social distancing we can only accommodate 1 reservation at a time for a maximum of 1 hour per day. Please note the pool will be closed from 12:30pm-1:00pm and 5:30pm-6:00pm daily for pool cleaning and maintenance. Please note, with these restrictions in place a pool reservation is not guaranteed when you book a room. Physical Distancing Guests are advised to practice physical distancing and maintain a space of six feet apart from others, our team members will be doing the same with reception and service areas reconfigured to assure a safe space between team members. The tables in our restaurant and outdoor dining areas have been reconfigured to allow proper spacing for diners and team members. Occupancy within elevators is limited to two people at a time. The tables in our event spaces will be configured to allow proper spacing between attendees and tables, with enhanced sanitization and social distancing protocols provided by enhanced sanitization protocols across the hotel, developed with guidance provided by local health authorities, the CDC, AHLA Safe Stay guidelines and other governmental agencies. Guest Rooms We have enhanced cleaning and sanitization protocols for our guest rooms to include the use of cleaning products and standards which meet recommended guidelines and are approved for use against viruses, bacteria and other airborne and blood borne pathogens and with particular attention to high-touch items and surfaces within the room. In Room Dining to further ensure the health and safety of our guests and team members, in room dining will be made available using no contact delivery methods.
