Trails open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Buy trail passes online or by phone (401-) 846-2577 before hiking. NBS staff in Welcome Center. Certain restrictions apply, you must wear a mask or face covering, maintain six feet of distance between other parties. No public restrooms are available. Trail fees Adults $7, Senior /Military $6, Student/Child (3 and older) $3. No dogs allowed.
Norman Bird Sanctuary is a private nonprofit wildlife refuge and environmental education center located on the largest area of contiguous open space on Aquidneck Island. The 325 acres contains 7 miles of hiking trails through diverse habitats and beautiful ridge vistas including the iconic Hanging Rock Trail overlooking Sachuest Point and Second Beach. In addition to land conservation, Norman Bird Sanctuary’s mission comprises environmental education, offering Summer Camp, field trips, public programs and more that help thousands of students and adults make meaningful connections with nature.
