Site of Captain Michael Pierce's fight with the Rehoboth and Canonchet's Narragansett Indians as part of the King Phillip's War on March 16, 1676, it is the city's first riverfront park and includes a ball field, scenic overlook, riverbank walkway, benches, and recreational facilities. The Pierce Fight site has been nominated to the National Register of Historic Places.
