Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge
Trustom Pond Refuge encompasses over 700 acres of varied wildlife habitat and is home to approximately 300 bird species, more than 40 mammal species, and 20 species of reptiles and amphibians. 3 miles of gently sloping foot trails in the Refuge meander by open fields, shrublands, woodlands, freshwater ponds, and swamps leading to 160-acre Trustom Pond, Rhode Island's only coastal pond free from shoreline development.
