WaterFire Boat Rides
WaterFire lightings are intimate, unforgettable, and unmistakably Providence—an experience you simply can’t get anywhere else. Glide through the glow with us as firelight dances on the water and music fills the air.
We've been offering our WaterFire boat rides since the fires began in 1994, and nobody does it better. Come aboard and witness the magic of WaterFire from our open air cruising vessels, away from the crowded walkways. These cruises sell out fast, so grab your spots and create memories that will last a lifetime!
Itinerary
⭐ Our FULL WaterFire boat rides guide you throughout the entire installation on the Providence River, from Crawford Street to the basin of WaterPlace Park. This is a large-scale event, including over 80 burning braziers throughout downtown. There are often vendors, food trucks, performance artists and a "downtown festival" type of atmosphere on these nights. They're a lot of fun, and our rides always sell-out in advance, so please plan ahead. The FULL WaterFire lightings will only take place 8 times this year, so don't miss out!
⭐ Our PARTIAL WaterFire boat rides are longer in length, but they only include a portion of the river, so therefore, less braziers are lit. A typical PARTIAL WaterFire ride runs for 50-60 minutes, and includes more of the river for an overall more expansive view of the city. There are fewer crowds, and less of a festival feeling to the night, but we love the longer rides.
Highlights
⭐ WaterFire is full of motion—fire tenders stoke the fires, rivers flow quietly beneath the braziers, sparks whirl through the night air, and flames reflect off the dark surface of the water, animating the architectural fabric of the city!
