Rhode Island nature & science

While we are nicknamed the Ocean State, Rhode Island also could be dubbed the Forest State as more than 50 percent of our area is forested. This means there’s some seriously unspoiled splendor out there begging to be explored, whether you’re hiking, biking, searching for new types of flora and fauna, camping, stargazing or bird watching. If it’s the latter, check out Block Island in the Fall, where more than 70 species of rare birds stop to rest during their migration south.
