Your Rhode Island Summer
Summer is finally here! And here in Rhode Island, the sun is shining, the beaches are beckoning, and the clam cakes are frying. There is so much to do and love this summer in the Ocean State.
Do you want to surf in the morning and dine al fresco on Federal Hill in the evening? No problem, you can get from the beach to the capital city in under an hour. And while you're there, keep the party going at Providence's fantastic rooftop bars, sports bars, riverfront bars, gay bars, nightclubs, and music venues! How about touring Brown University or the RISD Museum in the morning and the Newport Mansions in the afternoon? Easy-peasy, just hop on the Providence to Newport Ferry. The hour it takes to arrive in Newport gives you just enough time to enjoy a cocktail and take in Rhode Island's beauty from the water. Once in the City by the Sea, you can soak up the history on a walking tour, dine on the water, shop the wharves, take a sunset cruise and so much more.
How about some biking or bouldering in Lincoln Woods, followed by a nice, cold, locally-brewed beer? You're in luck, there are four craft breweries within 5 miles of Lincoln Woods - with nearly thirty more throughout the state. What about a lighthouse cruise or an afternoon kayaking on the Narrow River, followed by a fresh-from-the-ocean seafood dinner on the water? Or a morning at the zoo followed by a clam shack lunch, an afternoon at the beach, and an outdoor movie under the stars? And last is certainly not least when it comes to our very own island, Block Island. Full of gorgeous beaches, natural beauty, relaxing walking trails and panoramic ocean views, it's just a quick ferry ride from the mainland.
That's only the beginning. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we've got your best summer ever, here in Rhode Island.
