Springtime in Rhode Island
Rebirth, renewal, reinvention. As the Ocean State shakes off its snowy winter coat to welcome the verdant, vibrant, dazzling season of spring, there are scores of events, fairs, festivals and activities to enjoy. Visit parks and management areas, take to bike paths and hiking trails, walk along beaches and through bird sanctuaries and wildlife refuges as you witness the outdoors come alive. Take an outdoor tour on land or water to combine fresh air and exercise with information and fun facts (and in the case of food tours, delicious samples!).
March brings St. Patrick's Day festivities throughout the state, as well as St. Joseph's Day zeppoles at bakeries throughout the state. There's also the Salute to Spring at the Museum of Work and Culture, the New England Craft Beer, Wine & Food Festival and more. April means the Newport Daffodil Days Festival, Blithewold's Gateway to Spring, the Eat Drink RI Festival, Celtic Woman at PPAC, just for a start. The arrival of May brings Misquamicut SpringFest, the Newport Waterfront Oyster Festival, Gaspee Days Arts & Crafts Festival, Block Island Maritime Institute's Chowda' Fest, Blackstone Valley Explorer River Tours and the start of WaterFire.
Experience spring in the Ocean State. We're just getting warmed up!
